Turkey Stuffing Meatloaf Recipe: A Comfort Food Twist

Instructions

1. Prepare the Mixture:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan with nonstick spray or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the stuffing mix and chicken broth. Let the stuffing absorb the broth for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground turkey, eggs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix until just combined—don’t overmix, as this can make the meatloaf dense.

2. Shape and Bake:

  1. Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan and shape it into an even loaf.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the ketchup and brown sugar. Spread it evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  3. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

3. Rest and Serve:

  1. Let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This helps retain its juices.
  2. Serve slices with mashed potatoes, gravy, or a side of green beans for the ultimate comfort meal.

Tips for Success

  • Stuffing flavor: Use your favorite stuffing mix to customize the flavor profile. Herb-seasoned or cornbread stuffing both work great.
  • Don’t skip resting: Allowing the meatloaf to rest ensures it stays moist and slices cleanly.
  • Make it ahead: Prepare the mixture in advance and refrigerate until ready to bake.
