How to Make Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until the yeast is frothy. Add the sugar, melted butter, salt, and eggs, and mix until combined. Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Step 2: Roll Out and Add Filling
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a large rectangle (about 16×12 inches). Spread the softened butter evenly over the surface. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle it over the buttered dough. Scatter the diced strawberries evenly on top.
Step 3: Roll and Slice
Carefully roll the dough tightly from the long edge to form a log. Using a sharp knife or dental floss, slice the log into 12 equal pieces. Place the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, cover with a towel, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
Step 4: Bake the Rolls
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.
Step 5: Glaze and Serve
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls. Serve immediately and enjoy the sweet, fruity, and buttery goodness.
Tips for Success
- Use Fresh Strawberries: Fresh strawberries add a juicy and tangy flavor that pairs beautifully with the sweet cinnamon filling.
- Don’t Overfill: Avoid overloading the dough with strawberries to prevent soggy rolls.
- Make Ahead: You can prepare the rolls the night before and bake them fresh in the morning.
- Customize: Add a handful of chopped nuts or a sprinkle of chocolate chips for an extra twist.
